If you thought the MailChimp iPhone solutions were great, you’re going to love these two MailChimp apps!
Did you know that you can collect newsletter sign-ups offline with MailChimp?
What an excellent solution! Kiss those paper forms goodbye!
There are two ways to go about it:
- Desktop/Laptop setup
- iPad (this would be slick if you used in conjunction with this!)
Here’s how to do it:
Chimpadeedee
Chimpadeedee is an Adobe Air app, so you can cast your OS worries aside.
You can collect email addresses in physical locations, like at points of sale, trade shows, checkout locations and your Church! No connection? No problem.
Setup this up in the back of your Church and drop your computer into full screen mode:
Chimpadeedee now runs in full screen mode. For Windows/Linux users, you can press F11 to toggle between a window and full screen. If you’re on a Mac, you’ll have a menu option (Window -> Zoom) as well as Command+Shift+F to do the same.
You may want to change the “Always on Top” setting for Windows Task Manager, since you will still be able to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get it to appear. Also, Mac OS X won’t actually give up the goods when it comes to full screen mode, you can use Command+Tab to switch between your running applications, this includes Finder.
Not only will your rig peek Church member curiosity, but it will create some buzz about your Church or ministry’s newsletter!
You can download Chimpadeedee from the MailChimp Labs.
