[Editor’s Note: PHP Purchase can now be found here: Cart 66]
I’m in the market (literally?) for new shopping cart solutions and one that I keep coming back to is PHP Purchase, which claims to be one of the “best” shopping cars for WordPress-powered sites.
Here are some of the core features that make it stand out:
- Sell digital and physical products
- Memberships, subscriptions, payment plans
- Track inventory
- Real-time UPS shipping rates
- Use PayPal, Authorize.net and more
- The most customizable WP Ecommerce plugin
- Great documentation and support
- PCI Compliant: Passes McAfee Security Test
It’s got a lot to like and I’m digging in more this coming week.

Do you have any experience with PHP Purchase? Love to know your thoughts.
One of the biggest testimonials with this system is the fact that WordPress.com uses it for some of it’s auxiliary properties, like their Swag Store.

I did notice all the annoying wipes their video editor used :p, but having no expierence with it, it seems like a great product.

thanks for posting about this John, I’ll have to bookmark it for investigation. I currently use the s2member WordPress plugin for all my “e-commerce” needs on OrganizeSeries.com.
s2member works REALLY well for digital content and downloads. I’ve also found it really easy to hook into for some of my custom site needs (they’ve got integration with MailChimp as well, which if I remember correctly is something you guys use?).
You should check them out (and I’d be glad to help if you have any specific questions on how you might want to use it…)
