This week quite a number of us are recovering from our Thanksgiving feasting and perhaps from less than stellar nutritional choices. So the clever folks at Desirable Body are offering SuperSized superheroes as a simple and timely reminder, that we need to be mindful of our eating choices this Holiday season.
A few weeks ago, we posted about Typhoon Haiyan and how you could get involved and do something to help out. So many times we hear about these type of disasters and think that’s terrible and then we move on with our life and never actually do anything to help. That is something we have to work on changing though, because the people living through these disasters are often unable to move on and rebuild without a helping hand.
A funny and clever observation of the way we mindlessly consume everything that is put in front of us.
In honor of “Doctor Who day”, I thought I would share some totally awesome Doctor Who t-shirts.
I will also point out that any of these would make excellent gifts for your favorite Whovian, during the upcoming holiday season.
Hint, hint, Eric. 😉
Okay, so I pretty much turned the Internet upside-down looking for a Lord of the Rings Personality Type Chart and I came up empty-handed. I was looking for something like the Star Wars Chart that recently went viral.
How is it even possible that personality types and Lord of The Rings have never come together in one chart? Crazy, right?
So I took my inspiration from Geek in Heels and decided to just go ahead and make my own. Similarly to her, I found hundreds of discussion boards discussing the personality types of the Lord of the Rings characters. Hours of research later, during which I combined popular Internet opinion with my own ideas, I could finally see my plan coming together. Eric even got inspired to work his Photoshop magic with it and voilà!
And now without further ado:
I saw these funeral selfies and I couldn’t help but shake my head. I think it is safe to say that not only have we crossed over the proverbial line, but we seem to have lost sight of it all together. I know, I know, they are just selfies.
Everybody hates them and everybody posts them.
In the whole scheme of things, they are certainly not the worst thing to ever be posted on the Internet. However, posting pictures with one’s Grandma as she is being laid to rest is certainly questionable behavior. My first question would probably have to be don’t those kids have parents teaching them that’s not a good idea? The answer is probably a resounding, “no.” If they are like a majority of young people these days, their parents have probably given them unrestricted access to the Internet via the smartphones in their pockets, and naively forgotten to guide them through an acceptable modus operandi. These kids are footloose and fancy-free in world that is much bigger and more permanent than they can even imagine.
