About a year ago, I posted a music video bringing attention to the issue of Human Trafficking and Slavery. Sadly, this is still a huge global problem.
I saw this video, made for the UN ‘GIFT’ (Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking) on my news channel of choice (Al Jazerra – it’s actually the most informative and political neutral news station out there…). It’s been around for a couple of years but still has a real impact.

However, when I went to find the video on YouTube – so I could post it on ChurchMag – I ended up wanting to post about what I found on YouTube. Not because of the video, but because of this amazing Google Ads #FAIL: [Read more…] about UN.GIFT ‘Open Your Eyes to Human Trafficking’ [Video] (And Google Ads #FAIL)

Recently I wrote a post about some tips for making your WordPress site more secure.
Now that your site is all secure, you might want to tackle another bane of running a site – comment spam!
Do you despise it as much as I do!?!
If you’ve got a WordPress site, I’m sure you’ll have seen that it comes with the ‘Akismet‘ plugin. Akismet is a spam killing system that’s running by Automattic, the company that ‘looks after’ WordPress (and runs the hosted WordPress solution wordpress.com).
Akismet can do a great job, but there are a couple of things that can make it less attractive:

A Christian farmer from the UK has planted a maze with some of John 14:6, when Jesus answers to Thomas’s question, “How can we know the way,” with “I am the way, the truth and the life.”
It’s planted out of ‘thousands’ of willow trees that if laid out end to end would be over a mile! It’s not really a true maze, as you can walk about openly in it, but is still very cool! [Read more…] about Bible Verse ‘Maze’ on Google Maps!

Here on ChurchMag, we’ve blogged about the stupid EU Cookie Law on more than one occasion.
This week, there was another major happening in its life, when its own managers in UK law changed the way they’re implementing it!
In the UK, the Cookie Law is administered by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and this week, they announced on their blog that they are taking down their own ‘cookie consent’ banner in favour of using the ‘implied consent’ method (which I’ve used from the start on my sites!).
To celebrate this change (which will hopefully soon see the end to all those annoying banners – if you’re in the UK anyway), Silktide, a web development company who have been excellent ‘anti cookie law’ campaigners have created this rather wonder infographic:

This is a great and very interesting video about why and how the moon landings COULDN’T have been hoaxed.
In 1969 they DID have the technology to go to the moon, but they DIDN’T have the tech to fake it!
Not only is all the tech and geekery fascinating, but I found the questions about belief and faith at the end of the film thought provoking.
