With the iPhone proving there is a market for mobile apps, designers and programers are finding more and more creative ways to collaborate and create killer ideas.
I came across this resource, iPhone Mockup, while doing some research for an app I was designing for a client. It worked great for creating a wireframe and the initial bones of the app.
Check out some of this sweet action…
The “Wow, That’s Cool!” Stuff:
Are you the “straight edge and pen” or the “napkin and chewed up pencil” kind of guy? iPhone Mockup allows you to choose between a clean illustration or a rough sketchy pencil version for your layout.
Don’t fret! You can switch between the two in the working environment.
Don’t waste your time drawing out each button, list, on off switch, or keyboard. All the native iPhone interface elements are a simple drag and drop away.
The ability to upload your own elements/designs as PNG’s is available too!
Now for the really cool thing that makes this site stand apart. when you open it up for the first time it creates a unique URL allowing you to share that url with your client or anyone else. As you can see in the video you are able to make real time updates and collaboration decisions for the app. You can even save the URL and open it up later on to continue any work.
Final Thoughts…
For a free site this is killer.. great for brainstorming when you and the other parties involved are no where near each other.
I don’t see an app going any further then a wireframe or initial idea but for no cost it’s worth playing around with. I’m really hoping the author creates a iPad version as well 🙂

Have you tried our iPhone mock-up tools, its also a drag and drop interface but with more realistic looking objects. Plus you can change whole alert boxes etc just by double clicking and editing text. It’s pretty cool, do check it out and give some feedback. This blog post covers most of the features. http://creately.com/blog/announcements/iphone-mockup-tool-mockup-templates/

Spamish comment, but okay.

This looks like a great tool. Another great option is Lucidchart’s iPhone app mockup tool. Their tool has a lot of awesome features! http://www.lucidchart.com/pages/examples/iphone_mockup_tool
