The numebr of web-based applications – specifically IDE’s – are growing. It’s impressive, too as more and more work is being able to be done in the browser.
Up to this point, I’ve been relatively impressed with web-based IDE’s, but Akshell really stands out to me:
Askshall includes instant deployment, relational database integration, and documentation. Perhaps the most impressive feature of this particular IDE is integrated source code control. Nice, huh?
Personally, I’ve really enjoyed seeing the growing and maturity of web-based IDE’s but I’m still not at the point where I can leave my desktop IDE’s for them. It’s getting really close, though.
Either way, you can try it for free here.

We do have an undocumented API that you can use to integrate Akshell with your desktop editor of choice, be that vim, emacs or say even geany or eclipse. We will be announcing it soon, so you will be able to use just the platform part of Akshell. If you want to ensure your favorite editor is supported, please get in touch.

Cool stuff, Oleg – thanks for the heads up!
