The hits keep on coming!
Adobe has announced that their dropping Movable Type for the awesomeness that is WordPress! This is just on the heels of Microsoft announcing their move of millions to WordPress:
In 2010 Adobe contacted Blog Consulting to migrate total of 1200 blogs from Movable Type to WordPress 3.0. The project was successfully completed within 2 months.
Adobe uses Blog Consulting’s Monthly Maintenance and Support package, and outsources all their blog support requests to our consultants, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I think the world is continuing to accept the fact that WordPress is a serious player in the blogging space. Love it.

Makes sense – isn’t Microsoft buying Adobe … physh

This is huge for so much more than the world accepting WordPress as a serious player as a blogging platform though. These are ginormous companies adapting to WordPress. This means that they accept and are satisfied with the level of customization, control and most importantly security that can be obtained from utilizing this platform. Apart from that I don’t think it’s a long time off from seeing WordPress occupying a space that is completely non-blog related, there are already several themes available in those fields and just as many websites utilizing other themes that have been modified to removing the blog and comment structure.
With this move, how long till we see a Dream Weaver WordPress edition or even another piece of desktop software that is built to work exclusively as a WordPress designer? With what people in the media design and editing have come to expect from Adobe, I think that this move is a huge push in that direction and a good hint at what may be to come within the next release or 2 of the CS Suite.

After using WordPress for so long I wouldn’t ever consider MoveableType or anything else.
