Tumblr.
Love it or hate it, 16 million users is something that can’t go unnoticed.
So, how do you get your web content onto Tumblr without having to drink the Kool-Aid and sign-up for an account?
Add a Tumblr button to your site!
You can easily do this on the Tumblr website in two simple steps.
Drop a line of code before your </body> tag, grab some code Tumblr generates automatically for you (depending on which button style and color you slect), drop it where you want it, and you’re done!
If you are sporting the greatest blogging platform known to man, let me suggest a plugin built by one of the world’s greatest programmers.
(Oh, by the way, I’m feeling fairly biased, today.)
The WordPress plugin, Tumblr Button For WordPress, includes:
- The ability to select any one of the eight available Tumblr Buttons for promoting your content.
- Adds the share button to the bottom of each single post page.
- Is fully localized, documented, and easy to setup – install, select your button, and go.
You can install Tom McFarlin’s WordPress plugin from within the WordPress dashboard or download it from the WordPress plugin repository.
As for Tumblr’s button code creation, you can make your selection and copy the code from the Tumblr website.
Tumble-on!

I never understood why people liked Tumblr so much. I tried it out for a while, and for some instances it works. I just don’t like how it’s all set up–but I never thought about just having a button and no account. Hmmmmm….

I don’t understand it either.
