On June 25th, 2010 The 8BIT Network officially launched ChurchCo.de. Since then, we’ve had 290 posts, 603 comments, and roughly 21,500 page hits.
Not bad, I suppose.
Over the past few months, the one thing that has become increasingly clear to me is the breadth of you guys’ experience.
Some of you are web developers that are just barely scratching the surface, others of you are experience .NET architects, whereas the rest of you are writing custom drivers for mobile devices.
Crazy.
But we want to do what we can to continue resourcing you guys – and ultimately the Church – with valuable content. There are three main areas that we’re looking to target in the coming year.
Resources
We’re going to continue providing our typical resource-related posts and are going to do what we can to cast a wider net in hopes of covering a greater variety of material for various platforms, languages, and environments.
These particular posts tend to fall inline with the how the other properties provide content and we want to continue pulling that through here on Co.de.
Screencasts
Over the past six months or so, I’ve heard from many of you via Twitter, email, or even in some of the comments that some of the content is too in-depth or not as practical for your every day projects so we’re going to attempt to change that.
There are a number of great sites providing extremely valuable content for the Internet, but much of the content assumes that you’re bringing a level of experience to the table.
We want to try something different: over the next year, we’re going to work on producing screencasts, video posts, and other related content to help strengthen you guys’ experience specifically with web development and we want to start at ground zero.
eBooks and Tutorials
I know that many of you are interested specifically in jQuery and WordPress Plugin creation but are at a loss at where to start or don’t necessarily see how everything fits together int he context of a larger project.
We’ve been working on drafting some material that we’ll be running here on the site and eventually publishing as eBooks with additional, premium content.
Look for this stuff in 2011. And remember that we’ve got some cash to pay whenever you feel like contributing an article and spots to promote your latest project.
That said, we absolutely appreciate each and every one of you guys for reading, subscribing, and commenting and can’t wait to see what happens next.
