I recently read an intriguing post by Lianna Carrera on the Huffington Post about the 10 Signs You Were a Christian Kid in the 90s and had to share some of them with you (and some of my own thrown in ;-)).
Whether your were in grade school or a teen in the 1990’s, I’m sure you’ll recognize some of these …

Any others?
Raoul Snyman says
– Jesus Freak is still one of my favourite albums of all time.
– McGee & Me is a US thing, but I do know about it.
– I was in a few Psalty productions, even playing a semi-important role in one.
– Praise and Dance and the Lord’s Gym must have been US things, cause I don’t recognise them.
– Friends. Yes.
– Carmen… I still have his R.I.O.T. album somewhere…
Eric Dye says
The only reason you can’t find the RIOT CD is because you have it ripped into your mp3 player — LOL!
Jonny Solari says
Where’s the donut man??
Tim Clayton says
Not just the doughnut man, but how many Sunday school classes were you in where the teacher filled the doughnut hole like the hole in your heart? About a million. Best part … you usually got Timbits afterwards (probably a Canadian thing).
Eric Dye says
“It’s a jelly, eh.”
Chris says
Pretty sure I had every single one of those videos on VHS. They may still be somewhere at my parents’ house.
Raoul Snyman says
We have all the casette tapes (yes, you remember those?) of the Donut man. My folks were moving, and they asked us to come and pick out what we wanted to keep, and I took those casette tapes. Now just to figure out how to rip them onto my computer 🙂
Eric Dye says
Added 😉
EK says
Wow. Way to steal DIRECTLY from someone else. How Christian. Congrats.
Jay Caruso says
Perhaps you didn’t see that thing down at the bottom that said:
VIA HUFFINGTON POST with a big fat LINK to the Huffington Post piece.
Now, about that plank in your eye….
Eric Dye says
Remember, Jay, we don’t advocate anything mean spirited because it’s not representative of what we’re about. Try to express your opinion without being too snarky 😉
Jason Bradley says
DC Talk Jesus Freak was my first CD and still my favorite album.
Royal Rangers anyone?
Phil Schneider says
I was a Royal Ranger, even garnered the Ranger of the Year award.
Eric Dye says
Dang! I’ll be sure to let the ChurchMag Authors Network guys know this …
Eric Dye says
😀
Sarah says
Loved Jesus Freak album so much had the t-shirt, even wrote “JESUS FREAK” on my navy blue converse all stars! STILL love Carmen..(always had a crush on him). Still a big MWS fan (he’s coming to Toronto this May!) Never liked Mcgee and Me but my lil sis did. I’m sure this is a lot more we could add to this list. But would take us back to the 80’s….remember when Amy Grant “crossed over?” Wow what controversy! But I still love Amy <3
Eric Dye says
Good times!
Eli says
And this is why people thought us Christian kids were dorks 🙂
Eric Dye says
True story.
Phil Schneider says
Folks, I submit for your consideration:
WWJD Bracelets
Matt Pugh says

Eric Dye says
SO added.
Jonathan Gardner says
Who else played Redemption Cards, instead of Pokemon cards?
Raoul Snyman says
Mentioning Pokemon disqualifies you I’m afraid 😛
Jonathan Gardner says
What about Digimon? 🙂
Eric Dye says
LOL!
Eric Dye says
The silence isn’t a good sign, Jonathan. 😉
Jonathan Gardner says
LOL, true!
Tom Jamieson says

April says
Because I was born in 79, I have half my childhood in the 80’s and half in the 90’s. I had or watched all but 1 of these!! 🙂
Eric Dye says
I know what you mean 🙂
Andy Darnell says
