The Secret Weapon That Will Grow Your Business [Building A Storybrand Book Club: Chapter 2]
[This post is part of a Book Club book series where we take a deep dive into Building A StoryBrand by Donald Miller. To check out all of the posts, view the table of contents here]
When people talk about a secret weapon, usually my mind goes to heroes versus villains in comic books or cartoons. The secret weapon is usually this rare treasure our hero took nearly the entire episode or movie to find and in one swipe, the enemy is gone. For our villans, I have this view of a secret weapon like that of Star Wars, a laser beam that is way overpowered, overly complex, and one little glitch and everything falls a part.
In this chapter, we are introduced to StoryBrand’s secret weapon. There’s a lot of marketing noise and unless you are really clear in your communication and focused on your customer’s story you’re not getting through
3 Types of Landing Pages
A website has many different facets to it. For a website owner, you understand there are many different ways people will get to your website. Some people may simply write in the URL and hit go. Others will click on social media posts to go directly to blog articles. These are straight forward. The third is via a landing page via an advertisement, email, or especially stages link.
Description: In online marketing, a landing page, sometimes known as a “lead capture page”, “static page” or a “lander”, or a “destination page”, is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on a search engine optimized search result or an online advertisement. (Wikipedia)

I chose “response” because it wasn’t an answer to my simple question: “What are your service times?”

Quitting Social Media [Video]
I saw a quote recently that said. “When the phone was tied with a wire- Humans were free.”
Free from smartphones that is.
John Green quit social media, partially freeing himself, and in this video he shares not only what he did to help him quit, but how it’s honestly been going.
This video actually makes me want to quit social media too, because I know I’m addicted to some degree. The only reasons I wouldn’t, are that I have lots of people across the globe whom I keep in contact with through social media, and the other reason would be, well, that I’m addicted.
When You Need to Replace Apps [Podcast #248]
With Google Hangouts on the way out, we stop to think about changing how we record the podcast.
Do we move to the consolidated Google Meet? Or do we find something new?
What about other software? How do you do it? What about for your church tech team?
Let’s talk about it. 🙂
