Creating environments is a growing business, especially within the Church. Or perhaps we’ve been doing it for a long time yet we haven’t spent nearly as much time, resources, strategy, and energy into making them the very best.
In either case I’m becoming more and more aware of a number of businesses that make it their business of creating amazing worship environments, people like Visioneering Studios and their attempts at evangelism through architecture and design.
Another business that just crossed my desk is Cogun:
Cogun was formed in 1970 by James R. Couchenour in response to a need for an organization committed to assisting churches with the challenges and opportunities of expansion.
Cogun partners with independent architectural firms to design and build church facilities that accommodate dreams and desires, as well as budgets.
At a leadership meeting in 2000, we defined our Sacred Purpose as…”to be the number one source for helping churches develop the right ministry space”.
Pretty neat if you ask me.
In another life I would have loved to spend my creative energies in crafting such neat environments… instead I get to do it online (which is just as good!).
Do you know any other businesses that make it their business to help ministries craft environments and build buildings?
