I think the ultimate example of the “empowering others produces better return on investment” is Jesus Christ and his Disciples.
He gave them himself, teaching them, investing in them, rebuking and restoring them, and molding them into humble servant-leaders that would go on to empower others.
Apparently a natural by-product of the empowerment movement was a natural word-of-mouth marketing that expanded throughout the globe.
Not bad Jesus, not bad.
So when I see Chris Brogan jumping on the “Empowering is better than Marketing” train I say a hearty “Amen!” Our Savior provides a pretty darn good example of proven results.
What’s gotten me all jazzed is that the blog medium, if done and used wisely, can be an amazing tool for empowerment in this technological age and I’m beginning to see the fruit, sotospeak, of my personal efforts in that regard.
How are you empowering others through your blogs and other social media outlets?
