There’s some good tech fails in here.
- Remember DIVX?
- Mobile ESPN?
- Nokia N-Gage?
Some of these are slam-dunk tech fails, but there are a few in here that may be a stretch.

HD DVD lost the fight against Blu-ray while LaserDisc’s and Zip Drive’s simply became outdated. Fail? Not completely.
As for the rest?
#FAIL!
What do you think?

What about the MiniDisc from Sony? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDisc)
Eric Dye says
Not the MiniDisc.
I used them a lot in the audio post production world. Great for VOs and backups, since you could record over them so many times, and they stored much better than DAT tapes.
MiniDisc in the consumer market was a fail, but in audio production it was a WIN.
Mickey says
Agreed — Zip Drives weren’t a fail at all, as they served a nice niche for a while.
Eric Dye says
Yup. In fact, more and more people are going without disc drives.
Tre Lawrence says
The Palm Foleo… ah… I wanted that… LOL.
Eric Dye says
HA! You’re awesome Tre.

I want to see the e.t. Atari game get its own place here. That whole story is such a fail, its incredible.
Eric Dye says
Or Atari Jaguar.
Joanna says
I still see some tablet PCs around so I’m not convinced they were a total failure.
Eric Dye says
Hmm. True.
Chris Huff says
Tablet PC’s definitely were not a fail, but they weren’t quite perfected yet, either. I’d love for my iPad to have a physical, attached keyboard without having to deal with accessories.
