The 10 Most Famous (Followed) Christians on Twitter

A list was recently compiled that listed the 10 most followed Christians (as related to the WeFollow Directory). I imagine that it’s not as “complete” as it could be as many people are not familiar with WeFollow. In addition, not every Christian puts themselves in the Christian category.

But, it is what it is. I’m not sure what this really means, if anything, but it is fascinating, right? There are a few that are definitely not celebrities or “famous” in the typical fashion… but they are famous on the internet!

Here’s the list:

  1. Orrin Woodward – 135,025
  2. Pleasure Ellis – 126,340
  3. David J. Morris – 121,930
  4. Rick Warren – 114,136
  5. Christopher Wishnie – 112,968
  6. Adam Smith – 105,406
  7. Michael Hyatt – 81,346
  8. Bille Baty – 73,582
  9. Richard D Parker – 67,968
  10. Bible Prophecy Today – 67,016
  11. Trevor Lund – 66,236

Whoops. +1.

Are we missing anyone?

I obtained the list from WeFollow. I believe one has to register with them before they are considered for the list.

    John Piper has over 75K.

    Hillsong United is 82K

    Joel Osteen has 89K

    @Jesus has 171K

    • August 11, 2010 at #

I don’t think the person who has the @Jesus account is Christian.

The list is incomplete but people are welcomed to leave comments letting us know who they think should make it.

This list is a huge eye-opener in many ways about the impact of technology and the way we state our faith.

Chris Brady should also be on this list (rascaltweets). He’s a bestselling author or Rascal: Making a Difference by Becoming an Original Character and co-author with Orrin Woodward (Orrin_Woodward) of Launching a Leadership Revolution and a number of other books!
