It would seem that the number one goal for any social media user is to engage well. For some, this engagement will lead to thousands of followers that will give them a social media achievement that they longed for. Others hope to establish relationships with others to build a tribe or turn these relationships into potential future customers. Still others are looking to find experts that they can glean knowledge from and go from simply talking about a topic to finding out the latest and greatest strategies.
But to engage well, you need to learn how to post well. Here are a few tips for several of the most popular networks out there.
Here are three key tips from the infographic below:
- Images give a visual cue and can actually increase your chances to get shared, liked, or commented on.
- A call to action is essential to getting a reaction, whether an @reply, RT, or favorite. This means using action verbs (preferably at the beginnig of your tweet)
- Images are a great way to get noticed (especially if you brand it well) and so consider utilizing them in many of your posts. Do not replace a link’s image for a full-scale image as the effects are completely different due to size variances.
