The video above is just one of a number of videos posted where people or corporations are taking videos of helping others for good. I have already laid out if people should do church promotionals where they do community outreach, but their was something special about this one. It got my gears going on how church’s could take this idea and make it their own.
Create Your Own Christmas Miracle
Serving others with generosity should not be something left only for airplane companies. What if the church mimiced this too.
- Start with a lesson on giving, serving, or compassion. The focus of a church should be on God’s love and how we can offer that to people, not on “look at me and how much I can give.”
- Ask your congregation to respond to a tweet or Facebook message that says, “If you could give the gift of Christmas to anyone, what would you give and to who?”
- For as many as your budget can allow (and I’d challenge, even a couple more), contact these people to be a part of the giving process. This might mean a Christmas dinner, presents for their children, a date night with child care, or help with home improvements/paying some bills.
- Invite the people to your next church service and offer them to bring their whole family along too.
It’s the holiday season and I will say that I have been blessed and plan to give back.
How can your church give too in a unique way?
