I see this happen all the time and I finally have to say something about it.
Please, please be careful what you Like and Share on Facebook.
The next time you see a funny image or cool and clever quote that was shared by your Facebook Bestie, make sure you know who your sharing — not just what you’re sharing.
Here’s what I mean:
LOL!
Isn’t that funny? You should share it, right?
A family friend of mine shared this on Facebook, but they’re not the only one. I’ve seen this happen A LOT. I know this Facebook user meant no harm, but I can tell you that they would be mortified and embarrassed if they realized that they didn’t just like the image, but also shared the Facebook Page that originally shared it; which is this Facebook Page:
Be careful, because sometimes they’re much more subtle than this one!
This isn’t just an age thing, either. I’ve seen every age, sex and tech aptitude pull this stunt. In fact, just the other day, I quickly realized my erroneous way and did a quick UnLike to right my wrong.
What do you do? You see the funny image, you want to share it, what’s a Facebook user to do?
I suggest you give it a quick download and share it directly from yourself. Many Facebook Pages spread their name through memes like this. They’re a lot of fun and everyone does it — even ChurchMag! I’ve got no problem sharing funny images from other Facebook Pages, but when it’s an offensive Page like the one in my example, I can’t do it. It’s gross.
So, the next time you see a Facebook funny, be sure to double-check the originator before you blindly Like and Share it.

Uh, I’m guessing that’s “who *you’re* sharing”
My pet peeve too.

I’ve now read this nine times, and I am still confused by what I wrote. I know what I meant, and I know you understood it, but it’s weird. #badwriting
