The ability to write 60-100 blog articles a month has required that I come with a very specific blogging process. Not only should my blogging habits allow me to be effective with my time on that one post, but also continue to turn out great content repeatedly. No tips in this episode, but several announcements that you need to check out.
Blogging Challenge
I mentioned above the blogging challenge by Dustin Stout that he has done every month this quarter that has not only been fun, but an extreme challenge to write four blog articles in under an hour time. It gets even more difficult in that each article needs to be at least 300 words long and is a complete thought, you need to have a photo to accompany each article, and you need to have at least one article that is polished enough to go live.
I would love to see you join in! If you are interested, the next challenge will be on November 30th at 9AM PST, 12PM EST. It is a great challenge for those just jumping in or highly experienced authors.
Live Blogging Method
As I said in the video, I will be doing a live blogging process that takes you from a blank page to a final blog article as part of the next blogging challenge. The hope is that instead of talking about hypothetical situations where I blog, I can actually record myself and the screen that I am typing on to show off what I do in those 15 minutes. The best part about this is that you will see how I go from a thought to a blog article and beyond. Do note that I am a TERRIBLE multitasker, so the final result will definitely be edited with overlaid commentary and only a small part of it will be about my boring typing.
We Want You To Join Us!
If you did not know, we are making a solid shift from one voice on seventy8 Productions towards multiple viewpoints and experts within church tech. The hope is that the quality of posts will go up, but also that we can give voice to other parts of church tech. I would personally never blog on something that I do not find myself fully understanding, so many articles had been neglected until recently.
At the same time, this site has always been designed to enable people to do better ministry and one way that we have not capitalized on until now is to give people a platform to blog. We already have a solid following of thousands of readers and we know there are people out there that have something to say about church tech. If you are interested or want more details, please drop us a line at [email protected].
We have several who have already signed on to do some posting for us including Jesse Gruber who you have already seen posts on Android. Look in December for this to include significantly with new articles on a variety of articles.
