The Zorin OS is a Ubuntu based OS that is designed specifically for Windows users who want to start using a Linux based system while having a Windows like feel.
Zorin boasts virus and malware immunity, speed, and even claims to run Windows programs faster than Windows!
Take a look and tell me what you think:
As you can see by the GUI selector, there’s plenty of flavors.
Zorin OS comes in a variety of different versions (maybe they’ve taken the ‘Windows’ thing too far?):
- Free
- Ultimate
- Business
- Multimedia
- Gaming
The most expensive version will get you a physical disc delivered to you for around $20. Everything else, 32-bit, download, physical disc, version, etc … , is less.
You can learn more, download and order Zorin OS from the Zorin website.

I’ll stick with ubuntu or linux mint :p

So would I. Interesting alternative, though, especially those who are really engrained in a particular OS style.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this is nothing really new, though it is an interesting twist on the story…
Linux has been able to completely alter the desktop for years already. I can remember tons of tutorials and the like from 5 years ago on how to make your KDE desktop look and work like OS X, for instance.
But open source software is all about choice. If this gets more people using Linux, I’m all for it.

No bursted bubble. I didn’t think it was anything new, just another alternative. It’s true, you’ve been able to change the desktop look for years, now, but not everyone’s a pro like you 😉
