To say that many of us in the 8BIT Community are fans of WordPress would be an understatement. The platform offers an immense amount of functionality, but if you’re curating a site (or a number of sites) and find yourself toggling back and forth between the front end and the back end, it can get a little tedious.
The WPToolbar Bookmarket seeks to ease the pain a little bit…
WP Toolbar adds the standard WordPress admin menu to the top-right corner of whatever page you’re currently viewing. It presents the familiar look and feel of the WordPress administration menu and exposes the menu items for each option when you hover over it.
Of course, this doesn’t give you any functionality that you don’t already have available, it just makes managing a your site a little bit less tedious.
Not bad, huh?

I am having problems downloading it. Has anyone else tried to download it?
Tom says
You should just have to drag it to your bookmarks bar. Getting an error?

Nice find, I was using the wp-admin bar plugin for a while but eventually disabled it as I didn’t like all the extra queries it was generating in my WordPress theme. This bookmarklet does pretty much the same thing without requiring a plugin. 🙂
