Jeff Starr over at Digwp figured out that there’s been a slight change in the .htaccess files in WordPress, and it’s one simple line:
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
It’s quite simple to add this to your existing .htaccess file, and you probably should since it’s an optimization tweak for mod_rewrite’s internal idiosyncrasy.
