Bootstrap is pretty fly and the number of top-notch resources is growing and growing.
If you’re cruising with a WordPress theme that’s built with Bootstrap, like 8BIT’s Standard Theme, you can now use shortcodes to pull Boostrap elements!
Boostrap Shortcodes
This is so cool.
By adding the Boostrap Shortcodes plugin to your WordPress, you can load Boostrap’s ready-to-use elements like buttons, tabs, alerts, etc …
Here’s an example of what you would do to implement a Bootstrap button:
[button type=”success” size=”large” link=”#”] … [/button]
Slick, right?
You can do this with just about all the Boostrap elements:
- Grid
- Buttons
- Alerts
- Code
- Labels
- Badges
- Icons
- Tables
- Accordion
- Tabs
- Wells
This isn’t all the elements, but as they say on the GitHub page, “The plugin doesn’t support all the Boostrap elements yet…” [emphasis added]

Enjoy!

Great share! It’s amazing seeing the web community embrace and extend Bootstrap. I’m glad that Standard Theme is built on top of it so I can take advantage of it when designing child themes for my clients. This would be a great addition to any site that I set up.

This is great news since I’m rockin’ Standard Theme! I’m still hoping 8Bit will make these shortcodes native to the theme so we don’t need a plugin, but hey I’m not complaining! Still my favorite theme ever!
Thanks!

You could always integrate it into a child theme and drop it on the Git? 😉
