John Piper (yes, that John Piper) has emerged publicly on Twitter and has written a discourse about his reasoning behind it all, including his thoughts on social media, blogs, and other such mediums generally speaking.
The bottom line, though, is that he’s onboard with it: @JohnPiper it is! Go follow him and tweet “hello!”
But if you’ve got some time (and I highly recommend it) read his thoughts on Social Media and the likes of Twitter; I think he’s got something very valuable (and very reasonable) to say:
Dangers, dangers everywhere. Yes. But it seems to us that aggressive efforts to saturate a media with the supremacy of God, the truth of Scripture, the glory of Christ, the joy of the gospel, the insanity of sin, and the radical nature of Christian living is a good choice for some Christians. Not all. Everyone should abstain from some of these media. For example, we don’t have a television.
Oh, and nice avatar John. You should do something creative like @AndyStanley with the camera-in-the-mirror-thing.

Guys…. It is very cold up in his part of the world for many months out of the year. He'd be much happier looking if he lived in the city of Atlanta. I wonder if we could get NAMB to plant another church down here for him.
