The future of Apple is purely speculation. Only time will tell.
It does, however, look like they’ll fair just fine.
Just to give you an idea about what Apple has been able to accomplish, over 300 million iPods have been sold. Tim [Cook] pointed out that it took Sony 30 years to sell 220,000 Walkman cassette players.
That’s a music player.
What about Mac’s vs. PC’s?
The number one computer used by university students is now Apple.
Are the times changing?
Will Apple keep their momentum with Steve Jobs gone?
[via BitRebels]
Josh Wagner says
I think Apple will be fine without Steve Jobs, especially near tearm. Apple has tons of momentum, and Mr. Jobs was no fool, so I’m sure he has people in place to carry on his vision. I think where they may lack is forward vision. They need someone there to dream the great dreams and have the guts to follow that out. I would imagine they do, but it’s still an awfully large hole to fill.
Eric Dye says
True. It’s more the longer term of Apple that’s more in question. Like you said, they have tons of momentum right now.

Great question. I don’t think Apple will lose it’s momentum, but I think competitors might take this as an opportunity to step up their game. It would take Microsoft or a PC manufacturer to come out with an Apple-esque product or operating system that blew everyone away to pose any real threat.
Eric Dye says
Or something that isn’t PC or Apple like.
