There are so many new and intriguing worship bands coming on the scene – or maybe I’m just now paying more attention – and I have to say that I’m loving what I’m hearing: creative lyrics on top of energetic and current music.
Wildfire, the new EP from FUSE, is just that, Ia fusion – pun intended – of pop and dance music with lyrics that express heart along with a deep desire for satisfaction that can be met only in Christ.

For whatever reason, the chorus from “Shadows” has stuck with me most, and I’d like to share it with you:
Though the shadows try to hide the way
Your word the light shines through
When the world tells me I’m not enough
I’ll put my faith in you
Cause my sin was more than I could bear
More than I could take
You paid the price you gave your life
I’ll never be the same
So much of what goes in this world is designed to tear and wear us down. Jesus’ light shines through His Word, revealing truth about our worth, His love, our sin, and His victory. It’s a message that we can’t hear enough, and it’s a message that we need to share even more. There is hope; there is a path. His light shines through the murkiness that is life in this fall world, and in His light, we can find the way to life eternal, peaceful and pure.

In addition to all of this, FUSE is a ministry of a local church, and I absolutely love that. Their good at what they do, but I would gladly trade musical perfection to see the local church become a source for creative expression.
FUSE’s Wildfire is a fantastic worship album, and I rate it…
