This infographic really caught my eye, as I’ve read about many untraditional educational techniques, including the use of video games.
I have a firm belief that learning can be fun, and in fact, the best way to learn is to have fun. I am constantly appalled when I hear about students who are ‘punished’ for bad behavior by having extra homework assigned.
It’s as if they teacher is saying,
“Shame on you! Now you must learn something …”
I also believe that everyone learns in different ways and I’m certainly not throwing all my educational eggs into the video games learning basket, but it is certainly a piece of technology and medium that should not be overlooked or have educators turn their noses up at.
