Br.st, a new URL shortener, has a bit more than just shortening under it’s belt. Although there’s almost no reason why any posts should be dedicated to new and upcoming shorteners since they are a dime-a-dozen, Br.st is a bit different.
Jared Stauffer, President and CEO of Brinkster.com, shared with me that the founders are Christians who have a heart for more than just web hosting and sharing shortenedURLs; they have a plan to share the messaage of HOPE worldwide with their HOPE Project.
That’s pretty neat.
And you know what? Their product isn’t too bad either. They shared with me that their metrics and reporting is actually better than Bit.ly and honestly I love how I don’t have to rock an account to access them (although there is a question about “privacy”).
You can also click to share on a number of social networks, see live stats, share with previews, and also their links go through a scanner for malware.
Pretty neat.
Now, if they can just get integrated with all my apps, plugins, and other social services, I think I’d move to them; here’s hoping.
🙂
