During the heat of the SOPA/PIPA fight, it was said to be a fight against “free.” Why would someone pay for a game, movie or album if they could get it for free.
Those for SOPA/PIPA claimed that we needed more DRM and IP laws. The opposition could see how easily this would turn the Internet upside down and was a ridiculous solution to a complex problem.
One of my favorite examples of Internet commerce is Valve’s Steam. An online gaming purchase platform that simply … works.

Steam isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely best in class. I have issues with it sometimes, frustrating w/ slow internet connection when needing to update, having to run steam in the background, etc.
I’ve been playing a ton of Team Fortress 2 and Torchlight recently though. Great way to blow off steam. =)
