I have never carried any sort of “protection” device like Mace or Pepper Spray or even a GPS location device for my safety. Neither does my family but I know of other people who go as far as carry their “conceal and carries” with them everywhere.
Eh. To each his own?
With Switch, though, you could use Social Media as well as your device to help you out if you’re feeling threatened. High-tech security and safety? Not really, but might make some people feel safer:
- Send out your location and distress message to friends on Facebook and Twitter
- Send an emergency text message with your location to your family, partner or best friend
- Activate a loud alarm to attract help and attention from bystanders
- Use your iPhone as a bright torch
- Quickly call emergency services with a single tap
Hm.
It’s just not something I’m interested in, to be honest. What about you?

Not something for me but seems like could be useful for some people. I don’t know it seems by the time anyone could respond what ever incident was going down would be over.

the story of the boy who cried wolf comes to mind with this app.

What do bystanders do anymore? Countless stories of this past year where people have been dying on the streets from gunshot and knife wounds and no one calls 911, they walk around, tweet about it and take video and pictures to post online.
