Twubs.com makes Twitter hashtags more useful. Period.
And apparently their still cooking up even more in the kitchen as they’ve recently released more additional features like live event moderation and a suite of conference-related functionality, with live moderation and a tweetup event scheduler.
Those alone make the platform very attractive enabling users to create social media hubs around a conference or event, in a real-time embeddable tweet stream with aggregated hashtag capabilities, making it quite possibly the most feature-rich live event suite ever.
Add in multi-media features and administration and you’ve got something pretty fly. If you’ve got a conference or are going to organize one soon, check out their Live Event and Conference Suite which is currently being offered free during this BETA stage.
Tony Ferraro, the President of Twubs and the parent company 360hubs puts it this way:
Since Twubs already captures all of the users’ social media content from an event, the next logical step was to develop powerful tools, such as our Live Event and Conference Suite, that would take the event experience to the next collaborative level, with more than 40 features on our release roadmap, we will continue to execute on our vision to go well beyond hashtags.
Keep on rocking hard, I say!
A list of features:
- Live Moderation: From the conference to the classroom, photos, videos and more are included in a moderated environment to be projected at the moderator’s discretion.
- Tweetup & Event Scheduler: Twubs Tweetup & Event Scheduler allows users to schedule meetings and track attendance, and includes Google Map integration.
- Conference & Event Aliases: By merging multiple event hashtags into a single feed, Twubs Aliases feature removes any confusion surrounding the “official” hashtag and makes it easier for attendees to see all of the communication surrounding the conference.
- Live Event Streaming: Twubs Live Event Streaming allows any event or conference to broadcast sessions over the web using Livestream (formerly Mogulus) and Slideshare. Users, whether physically or virtually present, can then tweet questions using a #q-EventName hashtag that can then be answered by the panel or presenter.
- Enhanced Embed Widget: The Twubs Embed Widget enables the entire Twub to be embedded into any web environment using a simple cut and paste. Conference and event organizers can effectively port the entire feed of tweets, photos, videos, feeds and more to their website. This allows visitors to their site to quickly see what’s being talked about, relevant information and quickly connect with other attendees.
- Exhibitor Twubs: Presenting vendors can maintain their own communication portal within Twubs.com, and link their company’s Twub to the conference’s Twub page. This provides greater value to the attendees by having everything in one place.
- And more!

IntenseDB is down for me.
The multiple hashtags would be super useful. I can’t wait to see how this works at a big event like catalyst, or the super bowl!

Hey John, great post!
And you're right, we're "still cooking up even more in the kitchen." (I'm Director of Marketing for Twubs.) Can't tell ya how much fun we've had sitting in front of the oversized white board coming up with ideas– and then our amazing development team makes it happen– it's pretty cool.
If you have any feedback – would love to hear it. We're all about the input. In fact, I just got done reading the blog of a professor who is using Twubs' Live Moderation and filters for her classroom — how clever!
Thank YOU for this post!

And yes, like you said, we're "still cooking up even more in the kitchen." (I'm Director of Maketing for Twubs.) Can't tell ya how much fun we've had sitting in front of the oversized whiteboard, generating ideas. And our amazing (!) development team makes it happen. It's pretty cool to be a part of the whole process.

Agh! I totally just heard about this today. The Southern Baptist Convention is using for their…uh…convention. http://twubs.com/sbc2009
Seriously, it's so cool and you can embed the feed in your site…how neat (and simple) is that?!?
I wonder how reliable the livestreaming is. Any word on that?
Man, I'd really like to try this for our big events. It'd be so nice to have this all in one solution. Sigh…Ima have sweet dreams tonight.
