When I first heard about this I thought it was kind of clever!
Chris Juby, a 30-year-old church worship director in the UK, has set out to tweet the entire Bible, one chapter a day. With 10 chapters down, having started August 8, he only has 1,179 to go.
The expected end date, if all goes as planned: November 8, 2013.
Personally I think it’s a neat endeavor, and let the man do what he likes with Twitter!
But if you read some of the comments via CNN’s article you’d think some people take this thing way too seriously. Sad.
Follow @BibleSummary for all the daily goods. I really love his heart behind this:
He thinks the condensed chapters could even help non-Christians. “So much of our culture is founded on biblical stories and ideas,” he says. “If people aren’t aware of what’s in the Bible, they lose the context that many of our great artists and authors — from Shakespeare to Dickens — were working in.”
Go on and be your spiritual-twitter-self!

Yeah, the comments are brutal. Breathe people.
I read an interesting research style paper on why Hanna Barbera’s Greatest Stories of the Bible are bad for Christians over the weekend. My girls like the videos, and I just happened to do a quick google search to see what negativity was out there about it.
I really worry what people are saying about flannelgraphs 🙂

think about the possibilities, that someone would see the verse. everyday there are people hurting. i love the idea.

This could encourage people to go check out the non-summarized version of the chapter. I think this could lead people into deeper study. We live in a culture that people having absolutely no spiritual background or influence are becoming a commonplace. This can help draw those people in.

I checked out the site. Simply amazing!

I love this idea, but I wish they would link to the full chapter. This would could encourage people to read the whole chapter for themselves. More people in the Word is a beautiful. Twitter is perfect for this type of thing.
