I’m honestly getting more and more interested in video blogging (or vlogging for short) as time progresses.
Besides my issue with the technology not being as good as I’d like (although it’s seriously gotten better) I just have a hard time imagining that my big asian face talking to the interwebs about stuff would actually provide serious value to people.
I’ll have to do a little more thinking about that, I mean, you’re probably already disgusted that you have to see my face already in this post…! I know I am.
… Moving on…
Obviously though the answer would have to be a Twitter-based solution for viral sharing and such, if I did jump in feet first. Here are 10 Twitter-based video sharing services that I’m considering for 2010, and yes, I know that a few of them are more than just Twitter-based (like Posterous) but they are equally good for simple vlogging.
I’d love your opinion in the comments, and if you have any others then do tell!
Vidly
Twitcam
Posterous
CamTweet
TwitC
TwitVid
12 Seconds
Twiddeo
Tweetube
TwitLens
I will admit that I think the top 3 are probably the biggest contenders for me in addition to just using one of my own blogs.
Ok, let’s hear your opinion!

Hmmm. I have only heard of a few of these. Guess I better get to work and see which one is my fav. My friend used Posterous the other day for her #50photofriday idea. I guess I'll start with that one. Thanks for keeping up on what is happening in the world.

sure thing!

I am curious as to why it has to be twitter based?

My issue with twitter video with any service is that none that I know of actually work on most phones. Some work with iphones. But I don't know any that work on blackberry or windows mobile phones because they are all flash based.
human3rror says
i think you're right. posterous uses quicktime.

I'm definitely trying to jump on the video bandwagon this year (hopefully next month seriously). I second Kyle's question.
Also, I just recently found Screenr.com. it makes video screen casts for twitter. It's not quite the same as video (the talking head type), but you could do it without putting your face out there… as though that's really that horrible. :>) it's something to consider. All you need is a microphone, computer, and Internet connection. No registration required.

i blogged about screenr a while back.

I've been looking for opportunities to get more into the whole video blogging (or vlogging as you blogging-elite call it) thing lately, too.
I've got a Flip MinoHD that I've used on a few occasions but none of the content seems really, y'know, fully blog-worthy.

i have one but i don't use it. my wife slaps me for that purchase.

I'm surprised you didn't mention YouTube. There's an auto-post to Twitter option, but the text it includes by default is lame. It has the biggest potential built-audience by far, too.
Is there a reason you didn't include it?

You might also give http://www.ustream.tv a try. Their iPhone app is also pretty handy, especially for those that don't have a 3GS and want to be able to do video.
human3rror says
wow, sweet! thanks for this.
human3rror says
gosh dangit. where are all the comments… intense debate fail!
Tom says
Looks like stuff's not so intense after all, huh?
human3rror says
… lame.
Tom says
I come back this morning to check out the conversation and there's only two comments..
Where'd all the comments go?
human3rror says
i'm not sure… that's odd…?
Kyle Reed says
This is why I switched to Disqus
I was having the exact same problem
