Earlier this past Summer, I shared the awesomeness of Star Wars with my two youngest kids.
Here are a few tips I thought I would pass along:
- Watch them in the order of release: Episode IV, V and VI. Otherwise the impact of the last three episodes will be lost along with the curious intrigue that comes with the first three.
- Take your time with Episodes I, II and III. The first three episodes are a lot more intense then the older last three. Not only are the effects more intense, but the concepts are as well—not to mention that Episode III is PG-13.
- Don’t rush it! So your child is two or three years old? Do you think they’ll really enjoy it as much as if they watched it when they’re a little older? There are some really cool story lines that make Star Wars great that can be lost on your younger audience. Kids grow-up fast, so there’s no need to rush it any further. Once my boy saw Star Wars, Cars and other Pixar stuff lost some of its appeal, so bear that in mind.
Do you have any cool stories or tips from watching Star Wars with your kid for the first time?
My kids were seriously rocked with Luke and Vader’s connection. My littlest girl was pretty sure he was lying—LOL!
