The problem I have with this is the same as I have with what movies are ok, how much tv is ok, what video games are ok, whatever… it’s all subjective. If we’re talking about making things idols, well, anything can be made into an idol. There is nothing inherently evil about technology; it’s morally neutral. It’s how we use and react to it that determines whether or not it is a stumbling block.
So can technology be consuming and distracting? Yes. But just because you own an iPhone doesn’t mean you have a problem.
