If you’re like me then you can use all the help you can get when it comes to memorizing Scripture!
What’s always been fascinating is the fact that I have memorized more music (secular and Christian) than I have Scripture – and, I find it easier at times.
What’s up with that?
Well, a good buddy of mine seeks to capitalize on that element with The Rhema Project.
They have combined music with spoken word to create an interesting and entertaining way to listen to and learn scripture on the go. Here’s the question and strategy they’ve posed:
Have you ever listened to a song you have not heard in 5 years, but when the music hit, you could sing all the lyrics without help?
The Rhema Project uses creative elements of music to stimulate the same part of the brain helping you learn the scriptures without trying so hard.
Pretty sweet deal! Speakers on the project include, Christian hip-hop recording artist Tedashii, and Emmy Award-winning Paul Ryden. You can check it out and get a few tracks for free!

Not sure if this is anything new; Christians have been singing scripture for thousands of years. But I will check out this modern version.

…and I just listened to the previews in iTunes. They are not scriptural canticles like I was expecting; it is simply a reader with background music.
Not so interested now.
