I think it’s been long established that the web is a seriously cool place and the direction that many of the modern technologies are taking us in incredible directions.
The browsing is quickly becoming one of the primary ways in which we get work done. And with technologies like HTML5 and CSS3 headed our way, the potential only increases.
Sure, CSS3 provides some slick effects but as much as I like rounded edges and drop shadows – it’s stuff like transformations to get me more excited about where the web is headed.
Take a look at this demo of some of the transformations that are possible with CSS3. Click around the site, too. As the site says, it currently works best in Safari and Chrome.
To see exactly how all of this is achieved, take a look at the source code. It’s a lot of matrix manipulation – especially cool if you’re a math nerd ;).
Anyway, imagine this used in conjunction with animation or games. Cool stuff.
