I’ve been hearing a lot about this new photosharing app called Path and I’m honestly really intrigued.
Since it’s not about blasting the entire world with your photographic updates I’m instantly more interested because I’m all for a little more privacy in what we do online and what we share, especially images.
Essentially you “curate” and select the people you want to be notified of your images and that’s about it. The goal is to be a little more intimate with your sharing, and you’re limited to up to 50 close friends and family.
I think it’s curious because it’s everything that Gowalla, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare isn’t and yet it’s being developed by a one-time Facebook employee, David Morin.
I’ve already installed it and have sent out a few invites myself to my family and close friends. I wonder if it’ll take off and if this type of “closed” environment will strike a chord enough for some of the other larger players to take notice.
What are your thoughts? Is this more of an attractive idea to you? You’re not going to get traffic hits with this app, so if that’s your motivation, then you can forget about it.

Seems like a great way to update family with kid pictures.

I’ve been trying it out but none of my friends or family want to go beyond Facebook, which is a bummer for me 🙁

path does look cool. The biggest thing they will face as will all social networking sites: adoption. They are currently only on one platform; which limits themselves for broader expansion.

I have it and yet to have used it. Mainly because I only have one friend on there (I know kind of sad) but mainly because I still do not understand it very well.
Maybe it is time to change that.
