Faith On Campus had an interesting blog post that I thought I’d respond to quickly about whether we’re “using” technology or “abusing” it.
My answer is both and it’s simply not a problem to be solved but rather a tension to be managed. The better you manage this tension (and accept it) the easier it is to continue to move forward in one’s efforts to use it well.
Technology is not neutral and it does certainly impact the way in which we do things. It’s not necessarily how we use it but rather that we do, in fact, use it.

Hey John!
I’d love to hear more about what this tension looks like for you… especially given what you do!
What are some of the ways you’ve been successful at managing the tension?
What have suggestions might you offer those of us who struggle to manage this tension well?
Thanks for any ideas you might share!
Guy

set boundaries also help……… A LOT.
