Tablets Top Use

April 11, 2011

On ChurchDrop, we write about all sorts of nifty junk about tablets.

Apps to aid creative work. Apps to boost productivity. Apps to increase organization.

I was under the impression that tablets were being used for work.

I was wrong.

Google’s AdMob conducted a survey and the secret’s out!

Tablets are being use for:

Gaming.

It turns out that Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata may have been wrong about smartphones. It’s actually tablets that are destroying the handheld video gaming industry.

Here are some of the results from Google’s survey:

  • 84% of tablet owners play games on their tablets.
  • 78% search for information.
  • 74% use it for email.
  • 61% read the news.
  • The two least popular activities were shopping and reading e-books.

Eighty-two percent of the people surveyed said they use their tablets primarily at home, while only 7% use the devices mostly at work.

Here are the entire results of the survey for those who are interested.

As for me, I think I need to start writing more about game apps.
