We have addressed the many different hackers, including Anonymous, on this site from afar. Articles like should Christians support them and making your code look like a hacker’s are fun ways of talking about the issue.
Some of the hacking groups have seemingly “noble causes” to bring down “the man” while others are just looking to steal money or wreck an organization. In the recent months, governments have put online defense as a top priority as the threats have grown larger.
But the activities of these hackers have real and financial impacts for many organizations and people. Most of the time, breaches happen because of ignorance or laziness. Proactivity can go a long way.
Here are a few of the specs of the infographic.
- Most of the hackers originated in Eastern Europe.
- Many of the victims are from the food services industry.
- Small businesses get hit the hardest and unfortunately have the worst online protection.
- Most of the things they can do to prevent attacks are simple and cheap.
