Intellisense is arguably one of the nicest features in Visual Studio. Some see it as a crutch, others see it as a hand rail, but whatever – it’s a luxury.
Over the past few years, Microsoft has done a good job in supporting Intellisense for languages that are outside their area of ownership but inside their realm of technology.
It started with jQuery and continues with HTML5.
Here’s how to setup Intellisense for HTML5 in Visual Studio:
- Download the HTML5 Intellisense tool from MSDN.
- After installation, navigate to Tools > Options > Text Editor > HTML
- In the ‘Target’ drop down box, select HTML5.
Save and you’re done!

Great, now where’s the CSS3 pack? My life would feel a bit more complete without all of the red squiggles. =p
