Time for some Saturday Sunday Share!!!
What have you been working on this past week?
Do you have a website to share? A video you produced? Maybe some graphic work?
If it’s a category on ChurchMag, this is the place to share it!
Here’s a quick look at last week’s shares:
- Mark Robinson – Put together some awesome videos using After Effects!
- Brad Caldwell – Added some new pages and made some tweaks to his solid church website!
- Paul Clifford – Is “hanging-in there” with the freelance game!
- Jason Bradley – Kicked some serious Standard 3 Child Theme tail!
- Raoul Snyman – Shared his awesome life with us!
So, what do you have for us this week?
Don’t forget to comment on what other’s share, too!
😀

This week I celebrated four years of blogging at Joanna Muses by highlighting some favourite posts from the last four years. http://www.joannamuses.com/2012/08/today-is-fourth-birthday-of-joannamuses.html

This week I have been working on my new Christian question and Answer site over at http://www.orthotomeo.co.za
My vision is that people can come and ask questions and if they know the answer to another question share that answer from the Bible with the original asker.

Cool stuff, man!

Hi Eric, really dig the ‘Uke, I am your father’ t-shirt! Is there somewhere I can purchase one of these?

This week has been filled with highs and lows. I spoke to a perspective client who told me my work sucked, but then wanted to hire me, but was mad when I turned him down. I had another client that is starting his own business and paid me for some work I’d done and gave me some more work which he also paid me for. I thought my wife and I weren’t going to get to go to my church’s leadership retreat (a highlight of the year), but Jesus came through and made a way. I had a presentation I made at a recent conference I taught at hit 1,000 views on slideshare.net. I figured out how to do the “blown out white background” thing in my home office / studio which is impressive given that the space is smaller than your average walk-in closet. I also created a quick tutorial on how to make those video buttons at the end of youtube videos, since someone in the FrugalFilmmaker Group asked how. I’m 58 followers on twitter from 5,000, so that’s a fun milestone.

I know that pain – had a prospective client slate my work in order to try and negotiate me down then wanted to hire my services – once I realised what was going on I pulled the plug and explained how unprofessional and insulting their approach had been which kicked off a torrent of abuse from them – what’s worse was the client was a christian charity – so sad.
Keep going bro! Don’t mind the haters hatin – plus when you know Jesus at your side its always easier!

Such great encouraging words, Mark!

I am working through updating my photography website – http://everydaysnapshots.com. Added a background I shot & am working through modifying the CSS for the sidebar items – sometimes I think I am suffering through those things since I am not a well-versed programming. Thank goodness for support forums.
Eric Dye says
Lookin’ good, Dave!
(Yes! The Standard support forums are awesome.)

Finally got some time to site down and look at OpenLP. Managed to confirm a bug someone was encountering[0], but unfortunately the fix doesn’t seem to be that simple. If I fix that bug[1], I undo the fix for another bug[2].
I also worked on updating the Debian package for OpenLP, and got it accepted into Debian experimental[3], and also pushed up to Ubuntu 12.10[4].
I heard that the latest Humble Bundle[5] has 4 extra games included in the bundle. Initially I wasn’t going to buy the bundle, but when they added World of Goo[6] for Android, I couldn’t resist. I already have World of Goo for Linux, but I didn’t really want to buy it all over again just for the Android version. Now I have a few games extra 🙂
Oh, if you’ve never played World of Goo, you’re missing out on one of the most awesome games ever. They even have a Mac version, Eric 😛

Dude! Great humble bundle tip!
I’ll be sure to check it out, Raoul, thanks!
