How do you stay organized?
Up until last summer, I’ve been using a traditional paper pad to keep track of all my appointments & todos.
But ever since John hooked our team up with new iPads, we’ve been looking at software solutions that do what paper notebooks have traditionally accomplished.
And I have to say, I’m pretty excited about a few pieces of software, because they seem to do the trick….!

So there you have it.
I don’t know if this will help you, but here are a few points that have helped me stay on top of my schedule:
- Both Things & OmniFocus sync between mobile & desktop versions, but I refuse to use that feature. It helps me have only one physical object that holds all my information. Don’t ask me why, but my brain starts to loop when there’s more than one device involved.
- Both Things & Omnifocus have great feature sets. Omnifocus’ iPad version has repeating tasks. That won me over.
- If you’ve never heard about David Allen’s Getting Things Done, check out this link to dig deeper on the subject.
- This may be another tip for another day, but if you have a lot of PDF’s or printed material, check out Evernote or Dropbox to take your documents with you on the go.
That’s me.
What about you? What iPad & iPhone apps do you use to keep your Todos in check? Leave a comment below!

I’ve used “Things” since I was in college. It RULES!

It’s a great program….I may jump back over to it as soon as they implement repeating tasks and nesting projects for ipad version.

I prefer TaskPaper from Hog Bay Software. It’s a universal iOS (and OS X) application that, like all of there other offerings, focuses on simplicity. Simply put, it’s lack of features is one of the best features. I particularly like that my wife and I can both use it for syncing our separate to-do lists to the same computer, in the same account using OTA syncing with SimpleText.
For tracking appointments, meetings, etc., I use calvetica. It’s simple and fast.

I’ll have to check ’em out!

Thanks for the info! I installed Easy Note + To Do on my iPad and shortly after deleted it.

*UPDATE*
After deleting the other app, I ended up getting Todo, great app and easy to use.

– GoodReader for PDF’s. LOVE IT
– I’ve tried a many note taking apps but 2 I gravitate between are SimpleNote & HelvetiNote.
– Toodledo is a neat ‘to do’ app but I can’t seem to use it regularly or to it’s fullest. SimpleNote & HelvetiNote work better for me.
Still looking for a good calendar / contact app though.

Why do you use two apps for the same thing? I’m considering one or the other. How do you differentiate?
