We cover a fair amount of JavaScript on Code – the modern web is driven largely by the language. For anyone that’s ever tried to pick up the programming language, it has some confusing aspects to it and, surprisingly, there is little formal documentation around the web.
Mozilla is looking to change that with the Promote JS project.
Essentially, Mozilla is calling on all developers to articles, posts, and back links to valuable documentation. Yes, this is somewhat of an uphill battle but our work is cut out for us.
In an effort to help push this stuff out, Mozilla is also providing a badge for developers to place on their site:
Then as more people being to link their articles, note this part is key, AND put buttons in, we can change the search results. We are also working to improve the MDN and other such resources as well as pool them together in a more concise manner. This is not something that is a one off item, but a long term commitment for us, by us to improve things.
In an attempt to help promote this project as well as contribute something to the 8BIT community, I’m considering writing an article documenting some aspect of JavaScript.
I’m curious as if there anything in particular that you guys would like to see documented here?
