Testing your latest project on multiple browsers is one thing, but having to throw in all of the various mobile devices is a whole other issue.
Luckily, some are creating some really slick ways that make it easy to do just that. Check out iPad Peek.
iPad Peek is a simple utility that allows you to preview your site by entering the URL in an input field and then loading it up. It then displays exactly what you’d see on an iPad screen.
I dig simple solutions like this.

I love the idea of this project, but I find it somewhat limiting since in reality it’s just an iframe. If it could emulate the user agent I would be more impressed. I find it important to test sites using the most variables possible, and since many sites still like to test for user agents it’s sort of a deal killer for me. At the same time it doesn’t seem to support the view-port meta tag. I want to love it, but it’s not quite a replacement.

I think that from a pure screen size perspective, it’s decent but you are right in that properly emulating the iPad’s user agent would be the ideal way to go.
