I worked at Circuit City 10 years ago. We were told by a Phillips / Magnavox rep this would be how HDTV was. We were also told you would be able to click on a product you saw on a TV show and buy it right there and then…
It never happened. Until now. I like the idea, and I think it can be useful. As for how it works in churches, I will have to ponder that a little more.

I think it’s huge. If you deliver ministry video to the web, it definitely needs to be considered in your strategy.
I’ve looked at publishing over AppleTV, Tivo, Roku, Xbox, and Wii, and this is the one that makes the most sense.

It’s going to be an exciting transition to see how the networks deal with this. Will they react the same as the record labels did a few years ago? Or will they buck up, embrace the change and come up with strategies to maximize the benefits that this change has? Whether Google simply opens this door that others couldn’t (Apple TV anyone?) or they do like they do with so much of everything else and leave the competition in their wake, they will bring a dose of change.
The most interesting part of this development will be how the cable companies deal with it. We’re already hearing lots about data caps and overage charges in test markets and on drawing boards.
