It’s sad times for you Jesus-loving Apple fanboys out there, as it seems that Apple will not be announcing a new iPhone at this years Worldwide Developers Conference.
It seemed that Apple had developed a very solid and reliable pattern of releasing their updated iPhone device on a yearly basis at the WWDC in June/July time every year, however this year they are bucking the trend and have announced that it will only be software on the agenda this year.
This could be in part due to the fact that it was only recently that Apple released the Verizon version of the iPhone 4 and are looking to grow that market before releasing the next generation iPhone device.
It has also been reported that Apple have not yet ordered the parts for the new iPhone device, which you can normally expect leaks about when it does happen. Apple normally order their parts around 6 months in advance to releasing the phone, which would mean that we could be waiting till October before we see the release of the next generation of iPhone.
Sorry to those of you who were hoping to upgrade and rock the new iPhone over the summer. Maybe you will have to jump ship to Android! đŸ˜®

Where is the proof of this? Was there a statement by Apple on this?
It’s all hearsay for the time being.
But either way I don’t care, just pointing out there is no source for this claim as of yet.
Or did I miss something in Google Reader this AM

As you can see here, Apple are only planning on announcing software: http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/03/28wwdc.html
