I always get a kick out of seeing new tools that are geared at creating content for the web without actually using the typical web languages.
Some attempts are an obvious fail but some are really cool.
Such is the case with Nanoc.
Nanoc is an application written in Ruby that takes markup languages such as Textile or Markdown and generates static HTML files ready for deployment to the web.
They’ve got a solid getting started guide, API documentation, and even a community on Google Groups for users.
If you’ve got a Mac and the latest version of Ruby installed, give it a try.
