Any surprises?
I was surprised to see Final Cut Pro holding such a majority over Adobe Premiere Pro.
What do you use?

Text editing. I’m surprised Coda isn’t on there.
Eric Dye says
Word. Lots of surprises, here.
Josh Guerette says
Super surprised at the commanding lead Evernote has. I tried it quickly a while ago and it didn’t click with me, I think I’ll take another look at it.
Jeff Randleman says
I’m not surprised. I’m finding Evernote to be useful for more and more everyday. Definitely one of my top apps across the board.
Dave Anthold says
I started using Evernote & now I dump everything in there & it has a great search feature.
Eric Dye says
I would give it another go, too. I don’t use it to compose, but it’s been amazing for organizing links, ideas and info. Very cool.
Mark says
With the arrival of Final Cut Pro X I think the video market is all up in a tizz.
I’m an FCP user and have been fro many years. I would not consider FCP X a professional App. It’s not an option to me nor many other editors. There’s too much change in it and the fact that it doesn’t open projects from FCP7 and before means it’s completely useless for ongoing projects.
The fact that it has no real DVD authoring option is also a major downer.
Its for this reason That i was alos surprised as Final Cut’s ranking. If this survey was taken over 6 months ago then it’s no surprise but if it’s recent then it is quite a shock.
Gus says
Do you still use FCP today or do you use something else. If you do than you are right inline with the survey as most of us have not stopped using it even if the new FCPX is not as useful now….
Eric Dye says
Good point. Mark?
Dave Anthold says
I was surprised Avid was not on the list since it has many in roads & compatibilities with ProTools
Eric Dye says
I think they needed a bigger pool, plus, Avid is in a whole pro status of its own.
Eric Dye says
Very good point, Mark, and you’ve confirmed my suspicion of staying away from FCP.
Dave Anthold says
I was surprised that they did not have a photo editing section – if so, it would have been interesting to see how many people are using Adobe Lightroom vs Photoshop vs Apple Aperture.
Eric Dye says
I would be interested, too.
